Things To Do On A Chilly Day… Part 1

As the weather changes, the days get shorter and nights get colder, comfort starts to climb on your list of priorities.  You can indulge in comfort foods which will only perpetuate feelings of lower self-worth and sluggishness, or you can be really nice to yourself in ways that will improve your physical, mental and emotional well-being.  Here is one option…

Take a hot yoga class!!  Two of the more popular forms of hot yoga are Bikram Yoga and Moksha Yoga, which are performed in a heated room with their own series of postures.  There are possibly/likely other styles of hot yoga also available in your area. The benefits are tremendous but even if they weren’t, it feels soooo good.

Think you can’t afford it?  This is what you do:

Check for a local “hot yoga” studio in your city and drop in to the “Community” class.  You can call to ask when the community classes are, or check their website class schedule.  Community classes are taught by teachers-in-training and usually cost about 1/3rd the price of a regular class (expect to pay approximately $5 for a 60-90 minute class).   Moksha Yoga studios have an introductory special of $20 for one week of unlimited yoga.  That’s a great deal, considering one class is usually $15-$20.

After just one class, you’ll feel completely rejuvenated, refreshed, and cozy warm.  Mats can usually be rented for a reasonably low price if you don’t already own one.  Be sure to bring comfortable loose clothing, a towel, and a bottle of water.  Enjoy!

About your art …

I just received a couple of messages tonight. They were given to me while dancing with the long and entrancing tenticles of smoke from a little bit of happy herb while sending love to the stars. I’d like to share them with you…

  1. “Why won’t you just allow yourself to let creativity be the most open channel within stillness of mind, at every moment present …. You would then swim in the warm heart of flow.
  2. “Why don’t you give people examples of ‘being creative’, simple enough ideas for people who BELIEVE that they are not creative people, so that they can realise that this recipe can have the strength to pierce through their thick walls self-doubt.

The recipe/formula to creativity is to learn to be in a place that is 1 part love to 1 part letting go. Oh! and also know that every step along the journey, no matter how much indecision you go through, or roadblocks you stumble across along the way, if you really feed yourself love, it WILL become an extraordinary work of art!

Once you’ve allowed yourself to create your beautiful piece of art, you will also realize that it also works the same in life. Every action you take, in flow, becomes your beautiful work of art. And the love that you put into your art will transform into the vibration of appreciation and your work will radiate it back into the world, for those who are attuned to it.

Appreciation, is a healing vibration that we can all learn to tune into and be present in. It can spread like wildfire and make this a world a much more peaceful place. (more…)
